Kitchen fitting
Kitchen fitting in Cheshire and Staffordshire, done properly
Looking for reliable kitchen fitting in Cheshire and Staffordshire? TMC Building & Joinery fits complete kitchens for homeowners across both counties from our base in Alsager. We remove your old kitchen, prepare the room and install new units, worktops, islands and panels with the precision of experienced joiners.
Because we are joiners and builders, we can also handle the work that often comes with a new kitchen. That includes knocking through to a dining room, boxing in pipes, laying new flooring or hanging a new door. Fewer trades to organise means a smoother project for you.

How we fit your new kitchen
- Survey and measure. We visit, check the room and your kitchen plan, and spot any issues such as uneven walls or awkward pipework before fit day.
- Strip-out and preparation. We remove the old kitchen, make good the walls and make sure the floor is level and ready.
- Units and worktops. Base and wall units are fixed level and square, then worktops, upstands and panels are cut and fitted.
- Finishing touches. Plinths, cornice, handles and trims go on last, followed by a thorough clean so the kitchen is ready to use.
Fitting your own kitchen or one from our suppliers
We fit kitchens from high-street, online and trade suppliers, including rigid and flat-pack units. If you have already ordered your kitchen, we are happy to fit it. We will check the delivery against the plan before fit day so missing or damaged parts can be replaced early.
If you have not chosen a kitchen yet, we can talk you through layout options, from moving the sink under a window to adding an island with seating. Small changes at the planning stage often make the biggest difference to how a kitchen works day to day.
More than just kitchen fitting
Many kitchen projects grow into something bigger. Opening up a wall to create a kitchen diner, adding a single-storey extension or laying new herringbone flooring are all jobs we handle in-house. We can also make bespoke larder cupboards and utility storage to match your new units.

Questions & answers
Kitchen fitting FAQs
How long does kitchen fitting take?
Most kitchens take one to two weeks to fit, depending on the size of the room and the amount of preparation needed. Quartz or granite worktops are templated after the units are in, which usually adds a short gap before they are fitted.
Can you fit a kitchen I have bought myself?
Yes. We regularly fit kitchens that customers have ordered from high-street, online and trade suppliers. We will check the delivery before we start so any missing parts can be chased early.
Do you remove and dispose of the old kitchen?
Yes. Removing the old kitchen and disposing of it responsibly can be included in your quote, so the room is clear and ready for the new fit.
Can you knock through a wall to create an open-plan kitchen?
Yes. Removing a load-bearing wall needs a steel beam designed by a structural engineer and building regulations approval. We can carry out the work as part of our renovation service.
How much does kitchen fitting in Cheshire and Staffordshire cost?
The cost depends on the number of units, the type of worktop and how much preparation the room needs. We give free, itemised quotes after visiting, so you know exactly what is included.
